Double Rainbow Near Leavenworth

There certainly was gold at this rainbow’s end. I had just finished photographing Wildflowers Cascading Over Cashmere Hills when rain began to fall. I started to pack up but then noticed that the sun was still shining and turned to see this magnificent double rainbow arcing across the valley. I sprinted a hundred yards to find and frame this scene, where golden balsamroot blanketed nearly every hillside, glowing beneath a sky alive with color and wonder.
